Children and the Earthquake in Turkey
Photographs from the earthquake area

Nothing is wasted. The concrete slabs that appear to be leaning against the side of this block are the columns that used to hold it up. The ground floor has been completely crushed and the upper balconies now rest on the ground. The winch you can see on the roof is being used by building workers to lower down tiles from the roof for re-use. There have been many deaths when aftershocks have caused damaged buildings to collapse on people trying to salvage material or possessions.
